On this circular route of 4 days riding we travel more than 1000 km's and will visit the unusual granite mountain at "Baga Gazar" Chuluu, temple remains at "Ongi Khiid" and another beautiful mountain, "Zorgol Khairkhan" nearby the sand dunes at "Ovurburd Els". Most of the population in the countryside still live a nomadic or semi-nomadic existence, moving frequently with their herds of animals. In recent years many families have moved to the city, so we may ride for a considerable distance across the wild and beautiful land without encountering any people or vehicles.
The terrain includes hard pack, loose gravel, rock and sand. There may be some river crossings or muddy sections depending on how much it has rained. There are some fast tracks as well as more technical parts and off-road experience is required to participate.
Overnight accommodation is at traditional ger camps which are all located in wild and beautiful places. There will be shower and washing facilities as well as a restaurant and bar at each camp.

Ride through "Mandalgov", the capital town of Dundgov Province and continue across the open rolling hills and steppe of 'Middle Gobi' to the rocky cliffs beside the "Ongii" river where the 'Ger Camp' is located. Overnight ger camp.
Ride northwards along the rough gravel tracks of Dundgov. Pass by 'Zorgol Khairkhan' , an area of big granite rock formations that resemble sleeping dinosaurs silhouetted against the sky. Overnight ger camp at 'Ovurburd Els'.
As we return to Ulaanbaatar, the landscape becomes gradually greener and more mountainous. Even close to the city people still live the 'Traditional Lifestyle' there are more horses and less camels than we encountered in the Gobi. We expect to arrive at around midday. 'Overnight hotel'.
Departure.
This off-road motorbike tour in the provinces of Tuv ("Central") and Dundgov ("Middle Gobi") is an excellent opportunity to experience Mongolia's vast grasslands and dramatic granite mountains.
The Middle Gobi region lies north of the true "Gobi Desert" and is an in-between region of fertile plains and dry desert-steppe with some sand dunes and desert vegetation.

Mostly the trail follows rough jeep tracks, but we do ride a little distance on tarmac and a new road linking Ulaanbaatar to the "Gobi Desert" has recently been completed which we travel on at the end of the last day.
"The motorbikes were perfectly prepared. And the choice of the motorbike type (KTM EXC450 Six-Days) couldn´t be better. The best available bike for off-road experience! The route of the first day was very interesting and challenging."
